Detection & Response
EDR/XDR
We help evaluate and operate appropriate endpoint and extended detection capabilities without claiming a proprietary platform.
- Evaluation of endpoint and extended detection options
- Capabilities aligned to your operational needs
- Help operating the selected capabilities
- Managed operation only as set out in a written scope
The challenge
Design coverage, tuning and response together
Detection technology creates value only when coverage, tuning and response ownership are designed together. Cyberus helps teams assess endpoint and cross-domain detection capabilities and connect their outputs to a workable investigation process.
Endpoint and extended detection explained
Endpoint detection and response observes activity on workstations and servers. Extended detection and response can correlate endpoint information with other domains such as identity, email, network or cloud data, depending on the selected technology.
The engagement focuses on requirements, coverage and operation rather than claiming a Cyberus platform. Existing or selected capabilities are reviewed against the organization’s assets, risks and team capacity.
Joining signals into one picture
- Endpoint activity. Behavior on workstations and servers, such as process launches and file changes.
- Other domains. Identity, email, network or cloud events, where the chosen technology can use them.
- Tuned detection. Rules refined to your assets so the combined view highlights worthwhile activity.
- Response choice. An analyst decides whether to investigate, isolate a device or preserve evidence.
Why it matters
- Business risk: Endpoint tools bought without coverage planning or tuning can leave gaps, bury staff in alerts and still miss quiet intrusions.
- Decision it supports: Leaders can compare options and choose what to deploy, where, and who is allowed to take response actions.
- What you receive: You receive a coverage plan, configuration findings, tuning advice and a documented response workflow for the selected technology.
Build an operable detection capability
Managed operation by agreement
Where a managed model is wanted, the monitoring, investigation and response activities Cyberus performs on the selected platform are set out in a written service schedule or scope, together with the telemetry, escalation contacts and your own responsibilities.
- Why it matters
- A tool is only useful if someone watches it, so responsibilities for each activity must be written down.
- Supports
- Deciding what you run and what we run
Requirements and option review
Compare operational needs, environment constraints and available capabilities.
- Why it matters
- Needs, constraints and team capacity differ, and a poor fit leaves expensive capability unused.
- Supports
- Choosing a technology that suits you
Coverage planning
Identify priority endpoints, server roles, identities and data domains to bring into scope.
- Why it matters
- Protecting every device equally is rarely affordable, so important roles and identities come first.
- Supports
- Sequencing rollout by business risk
Configuration review and detection tuning
Assess policy, exclusions, prevention settings, data retention and administrative access. Review noisy or low-value detections and align rules with current threat and asset context.
- Why it matters
- Overbroad exclusions or weak admin access can quietly undo the protection a tool provides. Noisy rules train staff to ignore alerts, which is how a real one gets overlooked.
- Supports
- Finding settings that weaken protection; reducing noise and sharpening detections
Response workflow
Define investigation, isolation, evidence preservation and escalation decisions.
- Why it matters
- Isolating a machine has business consequences, so who may do it and when must be agreed beforehand.
- Supports
- Authorizing response actions in advance

Frequently asked questions
Is this a managed detection and response service?
It can be, to the extent the written scope or service schedule says so. Tools are the selected platforms rather than a Cyberus product, and the agreement states who responds to what; no outcome is guaranteed.
Does Cyberus provide its own EDR or XDR platform?
No proprietary platform is claimed. Cyberus helps assess, configure or operate appropriate capabilities agreed with the customer.
Can every device run an endpoint agent?
Not always. Legacy systems, appliances and operational devices may need alternative controls, which should be identified during coverage planning.
What should be tested before wider rollout?
Teams should validate performance, application compatibility, policy behavior, data collection, alert routing, administrative access and rollback procedures.
Team certifications
Individual qualifications held by members of the Cyberus team. They are not company accreditations, and not every consultant on an engagement holds every badge.
